The ingredients list on the label of Bone Suckin’ Sauce Hiccupin’ Hot Sauce reads a lot like a barbecue sauce: Tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, honey molasses, mustard, horseradish…Its key heat ingredient, habaneros, don’t show up until more than halfway through the list. I took this as a sign that I could try this sauce straight from the bottle.
While it didn’t exactly melt my face off, I was impressed by how intensely the sauce delivered habanero heat despite the plethora of rich ingredients in the foreground. Overall, this sauce has a lot of the flavors I find enjoyable in barbecue sauce without too much sweetness. And the label lists a pretty simple recipe for wings that I’d be willing to wager would be an awesome alternative to wings made with a vinegar-based hot sauce.
